Cable Menace At A- Block Streets

Pedestrian safety is important. A-Block 4th Street and 6th Street in Anna Nagar East have good pavements. But the pavements are unusable. Dangling and low-lying cables are found along the pedestrian footpaths. Most of the area residents walk along the road side to avoid getting in contact with the cable wires.

Clearing the cables from the pavements at A-Block will not only ensure pedestrians a safe footpath but will also make the streets in A-Block to look neat and tidy.

The roads in A-Block and even the street corners are in a bad shape and are in need of improvement. Walking on a majority of the city's footpaths is literally an obstacle race. A hindrance free footpath is the need of the hour. Let the civic officials ensure that pedestrian footpaths are obstacle free and not misused for vehicle parking.
