In urban and
sub-urban areas the growing of fruits and vegetables is much restricted due to
migration of peoples and expansion of residential areas.
Roof gardening is a recent concept primarily
intended for continuous supply of fresh fruits, vegetables through the year for
family use. Apart from this, medicinal
plants grown in roof garden can cure certain human diseases. Family members residing in urban and rural
areas can easily establish and maintain the roof garden.
One day training
programme on “Roof gardening” will be conducted by the TNAU Information and
Training Centre on 04.07.2013 (Thursday) between 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.The
programme will be useful to house wives, farmers, entrepreneurs, youths, SHG,
NGO’s and students, etc.
Training certificates, lunch will be issued to all
participants. Interested persons can contact Tamil Nadu Agricultural University
