Anna Nagar Roads Have No Proper Zebra Crossings

Brightly painted and clear Zebra crossing markings are essential for pedestrians to cross the roads. However, traffic authorities in the city have grossly ignored this basic fact. 

Several important roads and traffic junctions in Anna Nagar do not have clear and visible zebra cross markings along the roads this causes difficulty for pedestrians to cross at busy signal junctions especially at Chintamani, K4 signal junction and 100 Feet Road at Thirumangalam. 

Absence of zebra crossings on busy roads creates confusion for both pedestrians and vehicle users. Vehicle users stop vehicles abruptly making it difficult for pedestrians to cross the roads. Key junctions at East Anna Nagar do not have zebra crossing. 

Maintenance of city Roads is one of the challenging and important functions of Corporation of Chennai. In the last few years, various steps were taken for the up gradation of roads in the city by the Chennai Corporation authorities.
