Parking is a menace in every place at Chennai city. The city's vehicular population is clearly on the rise. Chennai needs three times the parking space it currently has to accommodate the vehicular population. Finding a parking space has become a difficult task.
In Anna Nagar for instance, parking is always a big challenge faced by all the motorists. Haphazard parking of vehicles on either side of streets results in traffic congestion on main and inner roads in and around Anna Nagar. Roadside parking of vehicles is a major problem in almost all areas in the city.
It causes severe hindrance to traffic on roads like Shanthi Colony 4th Avenue, which is already busy with continuous movement of large vehicles.
