Many street corners in Anna Nagar are clean and well maintained. AH
and AI Blocks are green covered residential stretches. But the street corners
of AH 4th Street and AI 5th Street, near 8th Main Road in Anna Nagar area
presents a picture of neglect.
The spot has become an eyesore with dumping of
debris and waste materials. Moreover opened junction boxes with exposed wires
at the street corners add to the problem. Road users find it extremely
difficult to maneuver around the uncleared debris.
The spot becomes accident
prone at night besides causing health hazard to the area residents. A road side
fenced garden can only be a temporary solution. Uncleared debris at road
corners poses a threat to motorists as well as pedestrians. Chennai Corporation
needs to take strict action against those who dump waste materials at street
corners, because duping of garbage’s and waste materials also affects
residents, who have to put up with heaps of debris near their homes.
