Koyambedu Traffic Police Closes Gaps Along Center Median

Kaliamman Koil Street is a congested link between Arcot Road to Koyambedu Market complex and Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT). Some place and bends along the road is very narrow. Unregulated traffic flow at gaps in medians is one of the major causes of accidents.

As a safety measure to prevent accidents and pedestrians from running across the road, especially near the Market, Koyambedu Traffic police have closed many accident-prone gaps along the center median. In a bid to prevent head-on collisions, the traffic police have installed safety barricades.

Traffic Policemen feel that medians would check and prevent over speeding and rash driving, which results in fatal accidents. With the gaps in median closed, Kaliamman Koil Street at Koyambedu has become much safer to drive on.
