Center Median Gets Removed By Traffic Police

Traffic congestion is a common sight along Shanthi Colony 4th Avenue stretch especially between 11th and 13th Main Road intersections. Center medians have been placed along various roads in Anna Nagar area in order to ensure that vehicles confine their movement to correct lanes, thus avoiding conflict with traffic from the opposite direction.

However, a downside of dividers is that they cause congestion especially along narrow roads. Traffic Police have noticed that the median structure in front of 13th  Main Road has been hindering smooth traffic flow for quite some time. On Saturday, 20th April 2013, a part of the center median located along 4th Avenue Shanthi Colony was removed by the Traffic Police Department. 

The median was removed to ease vehicle movement and also to facilitate easy turning towards 13th Main Road. There was traffic congestion along Shanthi Colony until the median removing work by a bulldozer got completed. Later the space will be blacktopped and made an even road surface for vehicle movement.
