Driving along 6th Avenue, Anna Nagar has become risky for the motorists and area residents. The road surface was dug up for laying Metro Water piplines and it is now left with out blacktopping. Chennai Metro Water Board had dug up a portion along 6th Avenue for undertaking improvement work. Sign boards are placed to caution drivers where the work is going on. The rough road surface poses an inconvenience to the road users.

Heap of sand and stones placed along the road side adds to the problem and results in traffic snarls, especially during peak hours. The comfort of smooth driving along 6th Avenue has turned difficult for motorist due to the battered road surface.

Residents stated that the Chennai Corporation officials should ensure that 6th Avenue once again gets a smooth road surface soon after the metro water department completes the work. Sixth Avenue is a vital link between 100 Feet Road,18th Main Road, Third Avenue and First Avenue, Anna Nagar East. Urgent action is needed to blacktop the dup up road surface.
