Driving along 6th Avenue, Anna Nagar
has become risky for the motorists and area residents.The road surface was dug
up for laying Metro Water piplines and it is now left with out blacktopping.
Chennai Metro Water Board had dug up a portion along 6th Avenue for undertaking
improvement work. Sign boards are placed to caution drivers where the work is
going on. The rough road surface poses an inconvenience to the road users.
Heap
of sand and stones placed along the road side adds to the problem and results
in traffic snarls, especially during peak hours. The comfort of smooth driving
along 6th Avenue has turned difficult for motorist due to the battered road
surface.
Residents stated that the Chennai Corporation officials should ensure
that 6th Avenue once again gets a smooth road surface soon after the metro
water department completes the work. Sixth Avenue is a vital link between 100
Feet Road,18th Main Road, Third Avenue and First Avenue, Anna Nagar East.
Urgent action is needed to blacktop the dup up road surface.
