18th Main Road Needs Attention

Driving along 18th Main Road, Anna Nagar has become risky for the motorists and area residents. Battered roads and a slanting post with dangling cable wires poses a lot of inconvenience to the road users.18th Main Road is in a state of neglect. 

Motorists find it very difficult to traverse which is ridden with potholes. Not even patch work has been taken up on the road.18th Main Road is a vital link between 100 Feet Road, 18th Main Road, Third Avenue and First Avenue, Anna Nagar East. The road has become a shortcut for motorists to reach Roundtana, Chintamani, ICF and Villivakkam, ever since metro rail underground station work commenced along Anna Nagar Second Avenue. Urgent action is needed to blacktop the dug up road surface.

 The road surface was dug up for laying Metro Water pipelines and it is now left without blacktopping. The rough road surface poses an inconvenience to the road users.   

Residents stated that the Chennai Corporation officials should ensure that Anna Nagar 18th Main Road is once again gets a smooth road surface soon after the metro water department completes the pipe laying project. Chennai Corporation officials stated that the road side debris will get cleaned and measures will be taken to blacktop the road surface one metro water completes pipeline work.
