Only a
part of C-Sector, Third Avenue stretch in Anna Nagar Western Extension has been
blacktopped. According to Chennai Corporation sources, the other part of the Third
Avenue will also get blacktopped soon after the new manhole construction gets
completed.
According to Chennai Corporation official sources at least 80
kilometers of roads in the city are regularly patched-up and re-laid. Anna
Nagar roads and avenues will soon give motorists a hassle-free driving
experience as the Chennai Corporation has decided to give the neglected roads a
facelift by bringing them up to better standards.

S.Duraisamy also stressed upon the need for identification of more stretches in
the city for development and improvement. Chennai Corporations future mission
is to provide word class roads which will offer an improved, comfortable
driving experience and be more pedestrian friendly.
