Timely Action Taken To Prevent Any Mishap

The stretch of Anna Nagar Second Avenue is a busy and frequently used by  heavy vehicle traffic. A caved and broken cover at the corner of 6th Main Road and Second Avenue Road, near Ayyappan Temple was making driving experience not just irksome but also dangerous at times. 
A wheel of a vehicle can easily get stuck. Gaps and uneven spots in the middle of main road has endangers the lives of pedestrians and motorists. 
After the situation was brought to the attention of the authorities concerned, restoration work was undertaken. The dip was filled up with sand and stones and later to leveled. Now the spot is not posing a hindrance to the pedestrians.

An Important Safety Requirement


The absence of reflectors on medians Choolaimedu High Road  causes  several accidents. The latest of such accidents was a heavy vehicle damaging the center median. Bright reflectors at medians, bridges and junctions is an important safety requirement. 

Well-lit medians or  reflective cones is a must at busy accident-prone medians and junctions. Steps would be taken to increase the visibility of all medians. 

Sources in the Transportation Department  said that  reflectors should be installed on the side of medians so that speeding motorists have an idea of the road edge.

Plastic Bottle Covers Electric Cables


In view of  paying  attention to the electrical safety aspects, a plastic bottle is used as a temporary cover for exposed cables along 6th Main Road in Anna Nagar.
This has been done to prevent people from  accidentally coming in contact with high-tension wires while going on the road. 
There is a lot of scope for prevention and safety. The Electricity Board should adopt proper safe methods to lay cables would prevent electrocution.

Potholes On Shanthi Colony 4th Avenue

Motorists using the 4th Avenue Road stretch between Anna Nagar Round Tana  and Thirumangalam have a difficult experience to drive along potholes, which is causing inconvenience to the road users. The potholes needs filling and blacktopped.

Many parts of the road  are battered and give motorists a bumpy ride. 

As a one way zone, Shanthi Colony Main Road  has constant movement of vehicle riders  as well as public transport buses. The volume of traffic is  quite high thought out the day.   

The existing 3 MTC bus stops located at Anna Nagar round tana Blue Star and 12th Main road on II Avenue towards Thirumangalam are also shifted to the parallel road IV Avenue (Shanthi colony).The CMRL is undertaking  underground station work in 3 places from Thirumangalam to Chintamani on II Avenue Anna Nagar.
