Wealth From Waste Programme For Students

The National Green Corps unit of the Chennai Girls Higher Secondary School, Chennai - 34 is maintaining Vermi compost plants in the school campus since last year. 
The NGC girls collect in a routine basis, all non-plastic wastes, leaflets and the noon meal waste and put them in the pit every day.They also advise and instruct the other students to follow the guidelines in the separation of non-plastic into good manure. 

This plant was inspected by Dr.H.Malle Shappa, Director of Environment along with NGC's other activities like Rain Water Harvest, Medicinal Plants and kitchen garden. The Director also interacted with the NGC cadets and instructed them the ways and means to be followed in NGC after visiting the exhibits and photo session. Mr.G.Thangaraj, Mr.M.Ravikumar District Coordinators was present during the awareness campaign.
