One should be always alert while
driving and walking. The roads are congested with vehicles. Bad roads, open
manholes and unusable pedestrian footpaths add to the problem. Though most of
the manholes are well covered, there are still a few which lacks a proper
cover.
One such dangerous open manhole in found in front of Central Government
Quarters along 100 Feet Road, Thirumangulam near Shanthi Colony signal
junction. The lit of the manhole is broken. Stones and tree branches have been
placed around the open pit to alert the road users.
No care and action has been
by the concerned authorities to replace the lid and close the open manhole. The
spot is posing a risk to the lives of the people. The open spot is very near a
school. Immediate action to cover the hole would be a sensible solution.
