After one way traffic system was
introduced at Ampa Skywalk signal junction, there is constant traffic movement
along Govindan Street, Ayyavoo Colony, Aminjikarai which was once a quiet road.
During peak hours it takes almost 45 minutes to drive from Nungambakkam to Thirumangalam
.
The point where Govindan Street and Poonamallee High Road meet needs urgent
attention of the traffic authorities. The junction happens to be the crossing
point for pedestrians especially school children.
Daily there is always heavy
vehicle traffic congestion at Nelson Manickam Road which is the main link road
to Anna Nagar and Govindan Street witness frequent traffic jams every day.
