In view of Vinayaka Chathurthi festival on 19th September
2012,colourfull and attractive Vinayaka statues of varying sizes and forms are
lined up for sale along 200 Feet Road, Thathankuppam ,Villivakkam. Vinayaka
Chathurthi is a popular and grand festival celebrating the birthday of Lord
Ganesha, who is worshiped as the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
Big pandals or stages are set up near Temples to
place the Vinayaka statues. On the festival day sweets, especially
laddoos and sugary modaks are distributed.
