The 40th Annual Day
Celebration of Anna Nagar Ladies Club was held 8th September 2012 at
the club premises. The chief guest Padma Bushan Dr.Sarojini Varadappan, President
Women’s Indian Association presided over the function. Padma Bhushan
Dr.V.Shantha Chairman Cancer Institute Adyar was the guest of honour.
Prof.
Dr.T.V.Geetha Chairperson Information and Communication Engineering, Anna
University distributed prizes to the competition winners. Anna Nagar Ladies
Club President Mrs.Meera Sankaramurthy welcomed the gathering.
Five educational
scholarships of Rs.500/- each were given by the club to the five bright and
poor students studying at Chennai Middle School Aminjikarai.
A sum of Rs 1500/-
was given to The Banyan. A sum of Rs.62000/- was donated by the club to the Cancer
Institute WIA Adyar. Finally the function ended with the vote of thanks by the
General Secretary Mrs.Rajalakshmi.
