Villivakkam MLA Hears Civic Grievances

Many petitioners turned up at the grievance meeting held at TKA Kalayana Mandapam, Villivakkam on 6th July 2012. The meeting was organised by Villivakkam MLA, J.C.D.Prabhakar to redress civic problems faced by the Villivakkam area residents. 

The representatives o various welfare associations highlighted their grievances on non-availability of proper drinking water and sewage problems. The representatives of Baba Nagar civic Amenities Association requested for increasing the pressure of water supply in their locality. Currently low pressure causes much concern with regard to water supply. Residents also complained of water mixing with sewage and blocks in pile lines which needs to be cleared. 

A representative of Thiru Nagar Resident Welfare Association stated that the water supply was not up to the mark. He suggested for laying a joint pipeline on New Avadi Road to solve the problem. Pioneer HIG-A Flats Owners Association said that the drainage line needs to be laid from their colony to 100 Feet Road for free flow of drainage. Residents of South High Court Colony complained of dirty drinking water supply. 

The representatives of Kumaraswamy Nagar said that new drainage line with enhanced capacity has to be laid near Shanthosh Mahal, as the old one is not capable of taking the increasing sewage. Superintendent Engineer of MetroWater Muralidara Rao received a total of 98 petitions from the residents. Villivakkam MLA, J.C.D.Prabhakar after giving a patient hearing stated that welfare measures were being taken up and he assured the residents that speedy action will be taken on the complaints made by the residents.
