Storm Water Drain Under Construction At R Block

The Chennai Corporation is constructing a storm water drain network at R Block, Anna Nagar to prevent water logging. Low-lying areas where water-logging is severe would receive priority in implementation of the storm water drainage project. Construction of storm water drains under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) is in progress at many roads in Anna Nagar area. 

Among the merged local bodies, the erstwhile Ambattur Municipality had the largest network of storm water drains. Chennai Corporation would implement the storm water drain project in the newly added areas using prefabricated structures to complete the work without disruption traffic movement on roads.
