Training On “Bonsai Making"


A one day training programme on “Bonsai making” will be conducted by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Information and Training Centre on 05-07-2012 (Thursday) between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm.

The course will cover the selection of plants and pots, medium, nutrients, different style of bonsai, maintaining bonsai plants, pest and disease management etc. 

Bonsai is a Japanese art form using miniature trees grown in containers. The Japanese tradition dates back over a thousand years, and has its own aesthetics and terminology. 

Bonsai practice focuses on long-term cultivation and shaping of one or more small trees growing in a container. The source specimen is shaped to be relatively small and to meet the aesthetic standards of bonsai.

 Many kinds of trees, plants and shrubs can be made into a bonsai. A bonsai is a miniature version of a tree planted in a pot. By selecting a nicely shaped branch, you can start a bonsai tree that will bring years of enjoyment Training certificates; lunch will be issued to all participants.
