Shri Krishnaswamy
College for Women, Anna Nagar had organized a seminar on Basics of Stock Market
and Online Trading on 20th July 2012. The seminar was conducted by Mr.
Venkataraman, Branch Head, Kotak Securities Ltd.
The objective of the seminar was
aimed to make students understand about the basic concepts and benefits of stock
market.He also focused particularly on role of National Stock Exchange (Nifty)
and Bombay Stock Exchange (Sensex).
He explained to the students on the method
of calculating the index and the reason for ups and downs in the share market.
Mr. Venkataraman also gave a lecture on Portfolio Management. He emphasized
that the main motto of Portfolio Management is diversification and liquidity.
The session was further more inspired
when Mr.Venkataraman gave a live demo on “On-Line Trading”. The whole session
was educative to the students.
