Protecting Turtles Is Like Protecting The Whole Wealth Of The Ocean

Tree Foundation runs a sea turtle hospital at Neelangari in Chennai to facilitate rescue, rehabilitation and release of sea turtles back into the ocean. Tree Foundation’s Sea Turtle Protection Force volunteer Mr. Sarveshwaran found an injured turtle. Good care and medical treatment was given. The turtle recovered and was released back into the ocean.Commandant Indian Coast Guard, Retired Chief Wildlife Warden, volunteers and wellwishers presided over the release event.


The turtle named ‘Sagarika’ was taken on a boat 3km into the sea and released.The support of volunteers from WCC (Women’s Christian College) and well-wishers was crucial for Sagarika’s recovery. Tree Foundation is involved in Marine Biodiversity Conservation, focusing on Sea Turtle and Dolphin conservation.
