Motorists are finding it difficult to drive during night time on the Padi flyover because of poor lighting facilities. The flyover constructed to replace the level-crossing is used by thousands of vehicles. The lack of lighting facility at Padi grade separator poses a risk to motorists using the flyover after sunset.
The elevated rotary is plunged into darkness after dusk. Heavy vehicle movement on the bridge adds to the danger. Powerful high-mast lights needs to be installed at Padi flyover to dispel the darkness. The flyover which falls under the Chennai Corporation limits is in urgent need of lighting facilities.
