The Annual conference of the Perambur Branch
Retired Government Employees Association (TNRGEA) was held on
Apri 14, 2012 at Periyar Matriculation School in PERIYAR NAGAR. The Branch President Mr M Raghupathi
presided over the conference. Mr R Santhanam Branch Secretary TNREGA presented
annual report with activities of the association.

Secretary paid tributes to the secretary of the branch who is able to achieve
remarkable strength with enrollment of new members in the Perambur branch and also encouraged him in the years to come.
He also appealed the chief minister Tamil Nadu, to increase the medical
re-imbursement amount on par with the central government. As of now the centre
re-imburses the staff upto Rs 300 000
whereas the state government permits only Rs 100 000/-
He also pointed out that medical institutions
charges a minimum of Rs 2.5 lakhs for a patient supposed to undergo cardiac
surgery and the merge amount which is being disbursed by the state will lead to
many practical difficulties felt by them. Mr N Rathinasubramanian State
Treasurer insisted the government to enhance monthly medical allowance from Rs
100/- to 500/- due to the prevailing
rise in cost of medicines.
Mr A N Srinath Chennai District President also
spoke. Mr K Gangadharan state president
in his key note address welcomed the RTE act by the centre preferably of the
25% reservation meant for the economically poor children and this has to be
implemented in letter and spirit by our chief minister, This will go a long way to maintain equal
status among rich and poor without any difference in the educational
institutions.
Since the President and Vice-president of the Perambur branch
tendered resignation new office bearers were elected unanimously. Mr P Ananda
Rao Joint secretary of the branch proposed a vote of thanks.
