CMBT Arch Is A Highly Congested Spot

The buses that exit from the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus in Koyambedu find it difficult to turn as there is continuous flow of vehicle movement on both directions.

 The frequent traffic jams on Jawaharlal Nehru Salai (100 Feet Road) between Ashok Pillar and Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), is the concern of many motorists 

The situation has become worse after the commencement of Chennai Metro Rail work on this stretch.The stagnation of traffic near the entry gate of CMBT ,opposite the Koyambedu police station is due to haphazard parking of vehicles.

 This results in throwing traffic out of gear on 100 Feet Road. The Government may very well consider bifurcating or trifurcating moffusil bus terminus. The authorities should take steps to widened the Kaliamman Koil Street in Koyambedu area for free flow of traffic.
