Heavy Traffic At Villivakkam Level Crossing Gate

While the Villivakkam subway construction is still going on,  motorists using the ICF Link Road find the road space getting busy and congested. The ICF Link Road is one of the most important roads connecting Konnur High Road with the Villivakkam Railway Level Crossing Gate no.1. 

With the subway construction work under progress at the Villivakkam Railway Level Crossing Gate no.2, people from North Villivakkam and Kolathur bound for the city have to take the ICF Link Road. When the railway gate on LC 1 is closed for trains, we have to wait up to 20 to 30 minutes at times. 

The trains are very frequent and during rush hour motorists lose patience waiting and cross the lines which is dangerous. Most of the major work on the Villivakkam Subway has been completed. The project is being developed jointly by the Southern Railway and the Chennai Corporation. 

Once completed the subway would ease traffic congestion in Villivakkam, Kolathur and adjoining areas. The work which began is till under construction. The Villivakkam vehicular subway is a much-awaited facility to decongest traffic in Villivakkam and ICF area.
