The Chennai City Traffic Police will take stern action against motorists who violation of traffic rules. Those violating the mandatory use of helmet provision would have to pay a fine of Rs.100 from Monday, as against Rs.50. In case the person violates the same provision again, a fine of Rs.300 could be charged.
All Traffic Policemen have e-challan facility to book and fine traffic violators. Traffic violations will be enforced strictly and uniformly.
