62nd Annual Function Of ICAI

Ramaswamy President, ICAI presented  a memento to Dr. M.Veerappa  Moily, Hon'ble Union Minister of Corporate Affairs in the presence of CA.Jaydeep N.Shah Vice-President, ICAI. 

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India organized its 62nd Annual Function on 11th February, 2012 at New Delhi wherein Dr. M.Veerappa  Moily, Hon’ble Union Minister of Corporate Affairs was the Chief Guest.

CA. G. Ramaswamy, President, ICAI, ,CA.Jaydeep N.Shah, Vice-President, ICAI ,CA.Rajesh Sharma,Chairman, NIRC and Shri T. Karthikeyan, Secretary ICAI were present during the function. Padmashri CA.Y.H.Malegam and Padmashri CA.T.N.Manoharan, Past Presidents of ICAI also graced the occasion besides other dignitaries.   

The function was attended by more than 1100 members, students and other dignitaries.During the function the rank holders of CA Examinations of different levels were bestowed with Merit Certificates by the Chief Guest.CA. G. Ramaswamy, President, ICAI while addressing the gathering stated “ The CA’s are called conscious keepers of business. 

Our profession inspires perseverance and responsibility quite significantly through its training & practice”. He added “Our fundamental responsibility is to safeguard the public & national interest.”He also shared some of the major achievements and initiatives taken by ICAI during the year 2011-12

Dr. M.Veerappa  Moliy, Hon’ble Union Minister of Corporate Affairs in his address complimented the efforts of the ICAI in the growth and development of India. He said “The accounting profession, perceptibly is playing a dynamic role in ensuring stability & sustainability of the national growth.

”He also praised the multifaceted role played by the ICAI i.e. as an education provider, a standard-setter with a focus on multi-dimensional abilities to render services so as to make the Indian Chartered Accountants a global brand and a Regulator.  

 He praised ICAI for taking a number of initiatives towards setting up of ethical guidelines and standards, re-enforcing its commitment for improving the quality of functions being undertaken by its members.  CA.Jaydeep N.Shah, Vice-President while delivering Vote of Thanks assured that all steps would be taken to uphold public confidence in the Institute and ICAI will always act in the public interest and maintain the values of excellence, independence, integrity and quality that the Institute stands for.
