Most of the major work on the Villivakkam Subway has been completed. The project is being developed jointly by the Southern Railway and the Chennai Corporation. Once completed the subway would ease traffic congestion in Villivakkam, Kolathur and adjoining areas.
The work which began is till under construction. The Villivakkam vehicular subway is a much-awaited facility to decongest traffic in North Chennai. Residents of Villivakkam want the work to be expedited and the subway opened by February 2012.
