The slow progress in completing work on storm water drains and uneven condition of the road surface along the 9th Main Road, Anna Nagar needs appropriate action by the concerned officials. Only a small section of the storm water drain is covered.
Residents say that ever since the storm water drain work started the locality have been facing trouble. The Chennai corporation need to ensure the drainage work is completed fast, especially near the school and college zones.
Wide pits on the road have been kept open along the road margin. The situation is very dangerous for pedestrians. The stagnant pool of dirty water also poses health risk. Sources in the civic body say they will look into the issue immediately and ensure that the residents are put to any more trouble because of the storm water drainage construction work.
