The Chennai Traffic Police has recently initiated its 23edition of the road safety week for the year 2012. As part of the ongoing road safety week, a banner has been put up in front of the State Express Transport Corporation Workshop at Anna Nagar East to create more awareness among the public. Catchy slogans like “accidents bring tears, safety brings cheers” in English and Tamil are found at the entrance gate.
The traffic police will create awareness based on different themes. Traffic police officials will interact with the employees of Metropolitan Transport Corporation at State Express Transport Corporation to talked about safe driving tips to drivers and conductors. The MTC and SETC will be organising various programmes in the city in connection with the observance of road safety week 2012. Pamphlets will be also distributed.
