32,890 New Cloth Scheme Were Distribution Function

The Honble Thiru. K. Muthukaruppan I.P.S Additional Director of police, Director of Civil Defence and Additional Commandant General, Home Guards, Thiru. Ravi Varman Cinematographer and Thiru S.J. Surya. Actor –Cum- Director were the Chief Guest  and  praised all the RCCF members for their tireless efforts for this noble cause for restoring the human dignity by distributing new clothes to the various orphanages in and around  Chennai. Shri A. Sudhir Kumar Surana Chairman, Amarprakash Group was the Guest of Honour. 

RCCF distributed 32,890 of New Clothes (conservatively valued over Rs. 55 Lakhs) on Thursday, the 26th of Jan 2012 at a grand function held at T. N. Rajarathnam Auditorium Dr. Deshmukh Road, R.A. Puram under Dinesh Kumar Bhandari New Clothes Scheme.

 Shri T.R. Achha, President Rajasthan Cosmo Club, welcomed the gathering and informed that under NEW Cloth SCHEME, more than 60,000 New Clothes valued at approximately Rs. 80 Lakhs in today’s value were Distributed till Date under the New Cloths. Sunil Chopra, Managing Trustee informed that 59 various institution were Beneficiaries in this years Distribution.Under this Scheme.

He informed that with Meticulous planning it was ensured that all Deserving people received the New Clothes. New Clothes Scheme Chairman, Ashok Hirani informed that more than 4,000 New Sarees,      2,000 T-Shirts, 3,000 Nighties, 2,000 Chudidhar sets and Almost around 10,000 Shirt Pieces and some more cloths were part of the Distribution.  

He also informed that 6000 special uniforms were stitched and Distributed to inmates of Kilpauk Mental Health Care.Shri Jawanthrajsa Bhandari Managing Trustee, Sri Dinesh Kumar Jawanthraj Bhandari Charitable Trust had also attended the programme and applauded the members. He also encouraged the members by announcing a donation of Rs. 400,000.RCCF, the social service arm of RCC, is the brainchild of a group of people from Rajasthan, now settled in Chennai, started by them years back in 1994. RCCF  members join together and undertake a door to door campaign to collect old, used and unused clothes from the general public.

The clothes thus collected are then washed, mended, segregated size wise and hygienically packed for distribution. It is a small way in which the foundation wishes to see smiles on the faces of all those under privileged people.  The clothes are then distributed by the foundation on various festive occasions to orphanages, destitute homes, leprosy and mental homes, old age homes, and to various organizations associated with street children and the tribal population.  The clothes are also provided to the victims of natural calamities.
