More Bus Service To Pattabiram


The new  road-over-bridge at Pattabiram railway level crossing has come as a big relief for residents of  Pattabiram since it  provides them with better access to the city.Now the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC)  can operate new bus through the newly-built bridge. 

Since the bridge has been built, the MTC could operate more buses towards Tambaram and Sriperumbudur from Pattabiram bus terminus. Thandurai-Koyambedu route have been crying for better bus facility for over three decades.The transport corporation can get an adequate collection amount if it starts operates buses to Tambaram, Sriperumbudur, T Nagar and Vadapalani from Pattabiram via Thandurai. 

The MTC needs to restart  revive a bus service from Broadway to Thandurai that was being operated  few years ago. Let the MTC take measures to introduce more bus services from Pattabiram terminus over the new flyover for the benefit of the Thandurai residents.

Tracks Used For Moving New I.C.F Coaches


The photograph shows the Anna Nagar railway line used by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Perambur, for moving newly built coaches from shell to furnishing division factory. 

Anna Nagar, a residential colony in the city, was  put on the railway network with the opening of a broad gauge line from Beach Railway Station to Anna Nagar. It is reported that the Southern Railway is planning to revive the  3.09 km-long train services from Anna Nagar to Villivakkam.   

Earlier suburban train service were being run from Anna Nagar railway station to Beach railway station via Villivakkam, Perambur, Washermanpet  and Royapuram. The Southern Railway  plans to resume it because of the increasing road traffic between Anna Nagar. 

The train service from Anna Nagar to Brach was inaugurated in 2003. The Anna Nagar and Padi railway stations today wear a deserted look.

Use Separate Walkers Part Near CMRL


A separate walking path  for pedestrians has been created for easier and safer movement  along the Anna Nagar Second Avenue Road around the Chennai Metro Rail work areas. 

Preliminary work on the underground section of the Chennai Metro Rail has begun with soil tests under way in various  locations across Anna Nagar.

Training On "Vermicomposting"


A one day training programme on "Vermicomposting" will be conducted at the Urban Horticulture Development Centre (UHDC) of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, on Thursday (16.06.2011) between 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. Vermicompost consists of nutrients, enzymes and plants growth regulators which are need for the better growth of vegetables and ornamental plants. The programme will be useful to the farmers, plant growers and land owners.
