According to the newly appointed Commissioner P W C Davidar, the Chennai Corporation will repair all roads that have been damaged due to recent rains within 10 days. Considering the hardship faced by the public and vehicle users, the Corporation has decided to repair all roads affected by rains with the funds allotted by the State government.
The work would be carried out in all the 15 zones in the city. Top preference would be given to bus routes. And to expedite the work, each zone would be provided with two lorries, two earth- moving equipment and workers to take up the road laying work. Improving the quality of roads and public facilities will be accorded top priority by the Corporation.
In order to prevent flooding, the Corporation has created an email account. The residents can send their suggestions to stopflooding@chennaicorporation.gov.in.
