Dead trees at public places in the city are facing the axe. According to a Court Order, dead trees which are on the verge of falling down, should be removed immediately and an equal number of new saplings planted in their place.
The completely dead road side trees in Anna Nagar Western Extension, located at Park Road and at the corner of School Road were felled by workers of Chennai Corporation (Ambattur Zone)
