The International Year of Chemistry is a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind.
The Year of Chemistry is intended to reach across the globe, with opportunities for public participation at the local, regional, and national level.
The events will emphasize that chemistry is a creative science essential for sustainability and improvements to way of life. The Executive Board of UNESCO, endorsed the proposal for proclamation by the United Nations of 2011 as an International Year of Chemistry (IYC).
The Royal Society of Chemistry, South India will organize Chemistry Quiz for students at University of Madras Guindy campus premises on Sunday, 13th November 2011 at 10am. Students studying in classes IX to XII are eligible to participate. Students should register their names on or before 12th November 2011 by calling 8144416484.
