Tack Laying And Station Construction Work

Work on the Koyambedu-St.Thomas Mount stretch is fast progressing to reach the 2013 completion target. Train tracks will be soon laid along the 100 feet road stretch. The elevated viaducts have been placed till Ashok Nagar and work is in progress to complete the rest o the section till St.Thomas Mount. 

Once the viaducts get installed track laying and station construction work begins for the metro rail. The Koyambedu -Ashok Nagar stretch will be taken up first. After constructing the pillars viaducts were installed using cranes. 

Once the base structures get completed standard gauge rail tracks will be  placed from January 2012 onwards.

It is reported that  the Koyambedu -St.Thomas section will have about seven railway stations.
