The city traffic junctions are equipped with small traffic signals which are portable and provided with solar energy at main junctions. The solar powered traffic signals are useful whenever there are large congregations, festivals, cricket matches, or in case of power failure at any signal junction.
The solar-powered portable traffic signals were launched by Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. These signals are very helpful to the traffic police men especially when there is power failure and to ease congestion.
The latest environment friendly technology gadgets of the Chennai Traffic Police will go a long way towards better enforcement of traffic rules.
