A Civic Lapse Makes The Road Ugly!

The Konnur high road particularly between Indian Oversees Bank and Tagore Nagar has become bad to worse with frequent flow of sewage like a river on the road causing traffic snarls and pollutes the neighborhood.   

It is due to official apathy to strengthen the sewage pumping station(STP) situated adjacent to K2 Ayanavaram police station. Due its incapacitated performance the CMWSSB  planned to install additional mini pumping station on Periyar salai in ward 56.  

Though the work on installation was completed the metro water officials are unable to get road cut sanction by the corporation since a ban is imposed by the commissioner corporation of Chennai. Mr J C D Prabakaran our MLA made his sincere efforts to mitigate the problem of sewage in the area and asked the MD CMWSSB Mr K Gopal to take action for the restoration of normalcy. 

 A couple of months ago the MD visited the affected area along with the area officials from CMSSWB and Chennai corporation, the MLA was also present during the inspection programme.
