Railway Week Celebrations 2011


The 56th Railway Week celebrations was be held across Indian Railways from April 10 to 16 in commemoration of the first train run on Indian soil on April 16, 1853 from Bombay to Thane. As part of these celebrations award distribution functions took place in Chennai city. 

At a function held at ICF, R.K. Upadhyay, General Manager, Integral Coach Factory, spoke about the  importance of designing and manufacturing coaches that are efficient and reliable. Addressing the 56th Railway Week celebration at Integral Coach Factory,  Mr. Upadhyay wanted the employees to build good-looking and dependable coaches similar to those built in the European countrie. 

He distributed shields, trophies and awards for efficient performance to several employees.The 56th Railway Week Celebrations of the Chennai Division of Southern Railway was celebrated today (11.04.2011) at Raja Annamalai Mandram, Chennai. The Chief Guest was Shri S. Anantharaman, Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai Division.
