It is reported that the automatic signal installed at the junction of New Avadi Road and Anna Nagar 3rd Avenue Road is not properly functioning. he traffic signal system in Chennai is in a peculiar state, where the authorities are not interested in fixing those that are not working, but are constantly adding new ones that soon stop working. This picture of the signal at New Avadi Road on the Anna Nagar bound Road tells the story quite well. It has remained in this state for more days. How does one enforce traffic rules when the signal is not working? Today, while driving along city roads has become a time-consuming affair, thanks to the installation of one-way traffic arrangements which is causing losses in terms of money , time and fuel. The authorities concerned should take action to activate the traffic signal at the earliest in the interests of the public.
