The photo shows the New Avadi Road stretch which has been dug up for new Metro Water pipelines near L-Block, Anna Nagar. Because of the Metro Water pipe lying work along New Avadi Road, one side is blocked and the vehicles ply only on the other side of the road resulting in traffic chaos during peak hours. The road has become heavily congested along the Anna Nagar 3rd Avenue-ICF Road junction. New Avadi Road, one of the many arterial roads was dug up for improvement works of water supply network, will soon be black-topped as Metrowater may complete pipeline laying shortly.
The road has become heavily congested as a portion of it is being used for two-way traffic movement. Pipeline laying work on the road was part of the improvement work taken up in the Kilpauk water distribution zone.
