A new signboards like this one on Shanthi Colony Road, in Anna Nagar have been installed in various parts of the city.
As part of the city beautification measures, the Chennai Corporation has installed reflector type display boards providing directions to the road users and signboards on all important roads and at important traffic junctions in Chennai city.
The Corporation Council has approved the project and commenced the work of installing new stylish road name boards. Traffic signage’s with retro-reflective material and stainless steel name boards have been installed along many roads in the city.
The new sign boards is along bus route roads and traffic junctions. The Stainless steel name boards are put up on various streets across the city. Signage depicting school zone, places of worship, no entry area, no horn, right turn or left turn and other relevant information would be are also placed by the Chennai Corporation.
This is done to standardize signboards across the city. All the roads in Chennai city now have reflective stainless steel name boards on avenue roads. The project is aimed at enhancing the safety of road users and streamlining traffic movement. The stainless steel signboards would have names of the roads written on retro reflective sheet with the Chennai Corporation logo.
