Indian Community Welfare Organisation, is a non-profit, non-governmental, organization who has worked with multiple marginalized and poor communities with a specific focus on women and child development for the past 20 years. ICWO is based in AP-216, 18th Main Road, ’I’ Bloc, 6th Street, Vallalar Colony, Anna Nagar West, Chennai.Prof. Root, Professor and Director, Office of Global Activities of University of Michigan, School of Social Work visited ICWO and interacted with Mr.A.J.Hariharan, Secretary, ICWO. During the meeting various possibilities of students exchange program were discussed. It was decided for the next academic years students from University of Michigan will visit ICWO and Madras Christian College for a international student internship program. Prof. Root was very impressed with the range and quality of the programs that were described by Mr. A.J.Hariharan and Ms. Devika Thilak of ICWO.
