RPF intensifies drive against defacement of trains

 Train drives are being conducted regularly against pasting of unauthorised posters and stickers in EMU trains at various railway stations viz. Tambaram, St. Thomas Mount, Chennai Egmore, Moore Market Complex, Avadi and Gummidipundi. During this year, so far, 325 persons who indulged in defacing EMU trains have been arrested and prosecuted. A total amount of Rs.1,08,000/- was realised from them towards fine.
To intensify the drives against this menace, RPF / Chennai Division formed special teams to conduct drives at the above railway stations. During the special drives conducted o­n 30.11.2014, 9 persons, including 2 owners of organizations, who indulged in unauthorized pasting of stickers and posters in EMU trains were arrested and prosecuted. 

Apart from this, it has been directed to target/initiate action against organizations / agencies / firms whose posters and stickers are displayed in EMU coaches, by collecting proper evidence and records through phone numbers / address provided in the stickers or through interrogation of employees who are engaged for pasting them, in coming days.
