Booklet on safeguarding Oceans released

The Coastal Security Group, Tamil Nadu and Tree Foundation jointly conducted a one-day workshop, Mission Sea Turtle, to propose viable solutions and strengthen networks to mitigate sea turtle mortality and protect associated ecosystems, on 31st October 2014 at the Police Training College,Chennai. Mrs V. Vanitha IPS, Superintendent of Police, Coastal Security Group delivered the welcome address.

A booklet titled Why Healthy Oceans Need Sea Turtles was done by Thiru Hans Raj Verma, IAS Principal Secretary, Environment and Forests- Government of Tamil Nadu was released on the occasion. The first copy was received by Dr. Sylendra Babu, IPS, ADGP, Coastal Security Group and all the other dignitaries. The workshop was aimed at providing the necessary platform for all concerned departments to strengthen their cooperation and protect the sea turtle along the coast of Tamil Nadu in the future.
