Metro train test run on Second track

Metro train trial test runs are now regularly conducted along the second line between Koyambedu and Ashok Nagar. The second line has been also electrified. The stretch is part of the CMBT-Alandur-St Thomas Mount elevated section. Chennai Metro Rail officials will monitor the performance of the metro trains on both the tracks. Several trials will be carried out before the line is opened for public use. 

The elevated viaduct till Alandur station over Kathipara flyover is also complete. Sources at CMRL further stated that test runs will be extended up to Alandur once track and electrification work are complete. Chennai Metro Rail officials are working to complete the Koyambedu-St Thomas Mount stretch as soon as possible. Metro trains will be the future new generation trains equipped with the latest technology.
