Conserving water in the Tower Park Pond

Anna Nagar Tower Park has a large pond in its premises. The pond gives the park a pleasant surroundings. Better measures can be taken by the concerned authorities to increase the water storage capacity of the pond and reduce the chances of it turning dry in times of drought and summer season. An important step towards water conservation is to ensure the water in the pond is cleaned regularly. At some parts green moss has covered the pond.

A damaged fountain light gives the pond an ugly look. The shallow areas of the pond can be deepened to increase the water storage capacity. This can improve the water level of the pond during the rainy season. Let the Chennai Corporation officials ponder over the restoration measures for the tower park pond and make it a beautiful and attractive spot in the park premises. The recent rainfall has slightly increased the water level in the Tower Park Pond.
