Anna Arch – Poonamallee High Road Flyover is taking shape

Work is on to complete the flyover project to connect Anna Nagar 3rd Avenue, Nelson Manickam Road and Poonamallee High Road. Most of the flyover pillars are ready. The entire project aimed at easing congestion along Poonamallee High Road, especially near Anna Arch traffic signal junction. In the future, once the flyover is completed and opened for traffic movement, motorists crossing the Nelson Manickam Road and Anna Nagar 3rd Avenue junction will not have to wait at the signals junction. They can just flyover the congested spot.

The flyover initiated by the State Highways, is expected to decongest roads around the Anna Arch. The flyover is going to be a great relief for the Anna Nagar area residents who regularly take Nelson Manickam Road to reach Mount Road and Nungambakkam. Traffic snarls are a common sight at the intersections of Nelson Manickam Road and Anna Nagar Third Avenue, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening. Apart of Poonamallee High Road is also getting widened to facilitate the flyover project.
