Tanker Foundation conducted a screening camp with the help of Rotary Club of Chennai, to mark the 66th Birthday of Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa. In order to prevent kidney disease, Tanker Foundation has initiated "Kidney disease awareness. The programme was inaugurated by Professor Giuseppe Remuzzi, President of International Society of Nephrology.
Dr Georgi Abraham, Founder Trustee welcomed the guests and emphasized the need of early detection of kidney diseases as it is a silent killer. Mrs Latha A Kumaraswami, Managing Trustee and Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, Head - Awareness & Prevention of Kidney Disease spoke on the occasion.
Tanker Foundation has provided 133,469 free and subsidized dialysis for 780 patients. Tanker Foundation has also reached out to more than 97,000 people by conducting 561 awareness programmes on kidney disease and awareness functions.
