East Main Road needs attention

A number of seized and condemned vehicles relating to the Food Cell Seizers are dumped along East Main Road by Enforcement Wing/ Police Department. Besides shrinking the road space the vehicles parked over the storm water drainage is also making the road stretch a dumping yard for junk.

Most of the vehicles are lying rusted since they have been parked at the same spot for more than seven years. It is also reported that good number of eateries have also surfaced along School Road, Park Road and East Main Road stretches. On the Western side of the road near Thirumangalam and on the Southern end of Park Road, tourist’s vehicles are indiscriminately parked.

The parked vehicles are posing a hindrance for free flow of vehicle movement. There is no indication from the concerned authorities about the vehicles parked by the Food Cell, Police Department and other private operators, says sources from Anna Nagar Western Extension Association. The vehicles have reduced the sixty feet road to less than thirty feet at many places.

Moreover there is a health hazard at places where the condemned vehicles are parked due to continuous dumping of garbage’s and waste materials. The Anna Nagar Western Extension area residents want the condemned vehicles to be removed and cleared by the concerned authorities before the situation gets from bad to worse
